What Bebidário is

Bebidário is a Brazilian drinks encyclopedia, originally written in Portuguese. Every drink has tech specs, a description, a flavor pyramid split into top, body and finish, a sensory profile shown as bars, and ratings from people who have tried it.

The idea is to help you understand a drink before you open the bottle, and to record your opinion after you've tasted it.

How the catalog is built

All flavor information comes from a source, chosen in this order:

• The producer: tech sheet, official website, official importer.
• Named critics: Decanter, Wine Spectator, Whisky Advocate, Difford's Guide, Revista Adega and other publications that put their name to what they write.
• Reputable shops and importers: tasting notes from a sommelier or technical team, when the producer doesn't describe the flavor.
• The label: the flavor or ingredient stated on the packaging.

Anything without a source is left out. That's why some drinks have no pyramid: nobody has published what they're like, and making it up would be worse than leaving it blank.

User reviews copied from other sites, marketplace listings and AI-generated text don't count as sources.

What the community decides

The pyramid starts from the source, but the people who drank it have the final say. Each flavor note gets votes, and the pyramid's order changes as the community votes.

• The rating of each drink is the average of members' stars.
• The reviews belong to whoever writes them, and each one can be marked as helpful.
• The sensory profile starts from a Bebidário reference and shifts with the votes.
• The polls for each category are answered by visitors.

The demo accounts used while the site was being built have been deleted. Everything live today was written by real people.

The photos

The photos are official press images: from the producer, the importer or the brand's official store. They all get the same crop — white background, bottle centered, same size — so the lists are easy to compare.

What Bebidário doesn't do

• It doesn't sell drinks: when a drink page shows the “Where to buy” button, the purchase is made on Amazon.
• It doesn't sell advertising space.
• It doesn't take payment to publish, improve or delete a review.

When there's a buy button, Bebidário earns a commission from the store as an affiliate, at no extra cost to you. This doesn't change any drink's rating, pyramid or ranking.

When a price appears on a drink page, it's a market reference range, not an offer to sell.

Found a mistake?

Tech specs change with the vintage, the batch and product reformulations. If something is wrong, write to [email protected] with your source. Corrections that come with a source go in fast.
