Original is a pale beer from Ambev born in Ponta Grossa (PR). Its origin is the Cervejaria Adriática, founded in 1906 by German immigrant Henrique Thielen, who registered the Original brand in 1931. Adriática was taken over by Antarctica in the 1940s, and the beer circulated for many years under the name Antarctica Original before becoming a brand in its own right in Ambev's portfolio.
According to Ambev, the recipe has been kept since its creation. The manufacturer classifies it as a bottom-fermented American Lager, made with water, malt, maize and hops, with a stated ABV of 5%. It is sold in 300 ml, 600 ml and 1 liter bottles and in cans.
