Bacardí Carta Blanca is a white rum from Bacardí, a company founded on 4 February 1862 in Santiago de Cuba by Facundo Bacardí Massó, who introduced this rum the same year. The bat on the label was suggested by his wife, Amalia, who saw bats in the distillery's roof. In 1960 the Cuban government confiscated the company's assets, and it continued producing outside Cuba, in countries such as Puerto Rico.

According to Bacardí, its rums start from sugarcane molasses, water and a yeast strain used without interruption since 1862, with a fermentation of 20 to 30 hours. Carta Blanca ages in American white oak barrels and is charcoal filtered. The brand recommends it for classic cocktails such as the mojito and daiquiri.
