Ballantine's American Barrel is a blended Scotch whisky from Ballantine's, a brand born in 1827, when George Ballantine, aged 19, opened a grocery shop on Cowgate in Edinburgh, later going on to sell wines and spirits and to age whiskies. Today the brand belongs to Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard.

The blend matures only in American oak barrels, as the label says, and the brand explains that its production is slower for this reason. It comes in at 40%, in a 750 ml bottle. The Brazilian page suggests the Balla Black, with sugar-free cola, as well as neat or over ice.

In Brazil, the brand sells it as Ballantine's 7 American Barrel, with a 7-year age statement on the label.
