Ballantine's Finest is a blended Scotch whisky from a brand that dates back to 1827, when George Ballantine opened a grocery store in Edinburgh that sold whiskies. Later, by then in Glasgow, he began creating his own blends. Finest became the brand's flagship in 1910; since 2005 Ballantine's has belonged to the Pernod Ricard group, under Chivas Brothers.

The recipe brings together malt and grain whiskies from the Speyside, Highlands, Islay and Lowlands regions. The base comes from the malts of the Miltonduff and Glenburgie distilleries, combined with about 50 single malts and four grain whiskies. According to Pernod Ricard, the recipe has been the same since 1910, and the ingredient list gives caramel as a coloring.
