Ballantine's Sunshine is the pineapple version of Ballantine's, the blended Scotch brand that George Ballantine started in 1827, in a small Edinburgh grocery shop that sold whiskies to its customers. The house received the Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1895 and is now produced by Chivas Brothers, part of the Pernod Ricard group. On the brand's Brazilian website, it appears alongside Finest and Sweet Blend.

The label does not call it whisky but a spirit drink: it is made with Scotch whisky and pineapple flavoring and bottled at 30%, in a 700 ml bottle. The brand proposes serving it in drinks such as the Sunshine Citrus, the Ray of Sunshine and the Scotch & Soda.
