Ballantine's Sweet Blend

Ballantine's Sweet Blend is the caramel and vanilla version of Ballantine's, the blended Scotch brand that George Ballantine started in 1827, in a small Edinburgh grocery shop that sold whiskies to its customers. The house, which received the Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1895, is now produced by Chivas Brothers, part of the Pernod Ricard group. In 2025 Sweet Blend won bronze at the IWSC and the ISC.
The label does not call it whisky but a spirit drink: it is made with blended Scotch whisky and natural caramel and vanilla flavoring, and bottled at 30%, in a 700 ml bottle. The brand suggests the Ballo de Caramelo drink, with ice and coconut water in a tall glass, as well as whisky with cola or with tonic water.
