BEG New World Navy Gin is the high-strength version from BEG, a boutique distillery created in 2012 in Joaquim Egídio, a district of Campinas (SP). Inspired by the navy strength style, it is bottled at 54%. In 2024 it received an Outstanding gold medal, with 98 points, at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), in London.
It has more than twice the juniper of BEG Brazilian Boutique Dry Gin: part is added by vapor infusion during distillation and part is macerated for 24 hours, as in the original recipe. The house's 11 botanicals include coriander, angelica root, pitanga leaf, lemongrass, Brazilian elder, cardamom, cinnamon and the peel of Tahiti lime, mexerica tangerine and orange. The bottles are numbered and signed.
