Buchanan's Deluxe 12 Anos is a blended Scotch whisky from the brand created by James Buchanan, who opened his blending company in London in 1884. The following year, the Buchanan Blend began to be served in the British House of Commons.
The same businessman created Black & White and built the Glentauchers distillery in 1898. According to the brand, Deluxe was originally called Buchanan's Finest Liqueur; Buchanan's has belonged to Diageo since 1997.
The blend brings together malt and grain whiskies matured for at least 12 years, and among the malts Diageo highlights that of the Dalwhinnie distillery. The brand suggests serving it on the rocks or with sparkling water and a strip of orange peel; The-Bar Brasil also recommends drinking it neat, in a whisky glass.
