Bushmills Original is a blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery, in the village of Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The brand dates its history to 1608, when King James I granted Sir Thomas Phillipps a licence to distil in the area. The Bushmills Old Distillery Company was registered in 1784 and, since 2014, the distillery has belonged to Proximo Spirits.
The recipe combines malt whiskey, made from unpeated malted barley and triple distilled in copper stills, with grain whiskey. The label carries no age statement. The brand itself uses Original in drinks such as the Irish Highball.
