Campo Viejo Tempranillo

Campo Viejo Tempranillo is the varietal red from Campo Viejo, a winery in Logroño, in Spain's Rioja, founded in 1959 and now linked to the Vinarchy group. The house presents itself as the world's best-selling Rioja brand, based on IWSR data, and says it was the first Spanish winery to have its carbon footprint certified by AENOR.

It is made only with Tempranillo and carries the Rioja Denominación de Origen Calificada on its label. The winery was built largely underground, where the barrels are kept, and the wine spends time in wood before bottling, for a period the house does not publish.
