Carmen Reserva Frida Kahlo Cabernet Sauvignon is the Cabernet in the Reserva Frida Kahlo range from Viña Carmen, which presents itself as Chile's first winery: it was founded in 1850 by Christian Lanz and named in honor of his wife. The range, the result of an agreement with the Frida Kahlo Corporation, came out in October 2022 in Chile, Mexico and Brazil.
It contains 85% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Central Valley, with winemaking by César Catalán. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, ferment at 25 °C to 28 °C and undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation; the wine then spends a few months in French oak barrels. The house suggests serving it at 16 °C to 18 °C, with roast meat, ribs or chocolate desserts.
