Terroir Merlot is a dry red wine from Casa Valduga, a family winery in the Vale dos Vinhedos, in Bento Gonçalves (RS). The family arrived from Rovereto, in northern Italy, in 1875, and the company is now run by brothers Erielso, Juarez and João Valduga. The Terroir line was created to showcase each variety grown in the main wine regions of Rio Grande do Sul.

The grapes come from the Vale dos Vinhedos and are picked by hand. After 48 hours of cold maceration and fermentation at 24–25 °C, the wine matures for 8 months in French oak barrels and rests a further 12 months in the cellar, already bottled. The winery recommends decanting for 15 to 30 minutes, serving between 16 °C and 18 °C and pairing it with mature cheeses, red meats or pasta with spicy sauces.
