Casal Garcia is the white vinho verde from Aveleda, a producer based in Penafiel, in the Vinhos Verdes region of northern Portugal. Created in 1939, the brand is recognized by its bluish bottle and blue label with a coat of arms, and the house presents it as an ambassador of Portuguese wines around the world.
It is made from the Trajadura, Loureiro, Arinto and Fernão Pires varieties, sourced from selected growers in the region. The grapes are pressed at low pressure, the must ferments between 16 °C and 18 °C and the wine is filtered and cold-stabilized before bottling. It has 9.5% alcohol and a light spritz; Aveleda recommends serving it between 8 °C and 10 °C and drinking it within three years.
