Casillero del Diablo Reserva Sauvignon Blanc
by Concha y Toro · Wine · Chile
Casillero del Diablo Reserva Sauvignon Blanc is the Sauvignon Blanc white from the Casillero del Diablo line, which Concha y Toro launched in 1966. The winery was founded in 1883 by Don Melchor Concha y Toro, and the line's name comes from the rumour, told on the label, that the devil lived in the cellar where he kept the wines he set aside for himself.
The grapes come from Chilean vineyards on alluvial, colluvial, piedmont and hillside soils, under a cool Mediterranean climate with maritime influence. The producer states only Chile as the origin, with no specific valley. The winery recommends serving it between 8 and 10 °C, with ceviche, fresh seafood and salads.
