Chandon Riche Demi-Sec is the white demi-sec sparkling wine from Chandon do Brasil, a Moët Hennessy group winery that settled in Garibaldi, in the Serra Gaúcha, in 1973. The house launched its first sparkling wine in the country in 1977 and, since 1998, has made only sparkling wines.
The grapes come from vineyards in the Serra Gaúcha, between 350 and 700 m altitude, and from Encruzilhada do Sul. Base wines from several vintages and varieties are blended between April and June; the second fermentation and aging take at least four months in closed tanks (Charmat method).
The dosage leaves 35 g/L of sugar. Chandon suggests the sparkling wine with spicy dishes, blue cheeses and desserts.
