Appia is a wheat beer from Cervejaria Colorado, founded by Marcelo Carneiro in Ribeirão Preto (SP) in the mid-1990s and bought by Ambev in July 2015. The name comes from Latin and refers to the bee: according to Ambev, it was the first beer in Brazil to include honey in its recipe, within Colorado's line that uses Brazilian ingredients.
Ambev classifies it as a Wheat Ale, made with a wheat malt base, water, hops and orange blossom honey. The ABV stated by the manufacturer is 5.5%. It is sold in 350 and 410 ml cans and in a 600 ml bottle.
