Eagle Rare 10 Year Old is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon created in 1975 by master distiller Charles L. Beam for Seagram.
The Sazerac Company bought the brand in March 1989 and began producing it at the Buffalo Trace distillery, in Frankfort, Kentucky, where it took on its current form, 10 years old at 90 proof. The house says it is the only bourbon to have won the double gold medal five times.
It uses the same grain recipe as Buffalo Trace, with a low rye content, and ages for at least ten years in charred oak barrels, selected one by one. It comes in at 45% (90 proof). The importer suggests drinking it neat, over ice or in classic bourbon cocktails.
