Eisenbahn American IPA is the American-style India Pale Ale from Eisenbahn, a brewery founded in 2002 in Blumenau (SC) by the brothers Bruno and Juliano Mendes. The name means railway in German and recalls the old train station next to the brewery. The brand was sold to Schincariol in 2008 and came to the Heineken Group in 2017, with the purchase of Brasil Kirin.
It is an all-malt ale, made with water, barley malt and hops. It has 6.9% alcohol and 50 IBU of bitterness, and is sold in a 355 ml long neck and a 350 ml can. The brewery recommends serving it at 5 °C to 8 °C, in a pint glass, with barbecue pork ribs, burgers, pizzas and cheeses such as parmesan, gorgonzola and gouda.
