Espírito de Minas is an alembic cachaça produced at Fazenda Santa Luzia, a colonial farm in São Tiago, a town in the Campo das Vertentes region of Minas Gerais. The brand presents itself as one of the pioneers in bringing artisanal cachaça to upscale establishments, and the label reproduces the church of São Francisco de Assis in Ouro Preto.
It follows the traditional Minas Gerais recipe: the house oversees everything from the planting of the cane, ferments the juice naturally and distils it in a copper alembic still. The traditional version has a slightly golden color and goes into the 700 ml bottle at 42%. There is also Espírito de Minas Ouro, aged in oak barrels.
