Esporão Reserva Tinto

Esporão Reserva Tinto is, according to the house itself, the oldest label of Herdade do Esporão, a producer of wines and olive oils in Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the Alentejo. It is a DOC Alentejo made with grapes from the estate's vineyards, farmed under certified organic production, and its label is illustrated by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.
In the 2023 vintage, the blend brings together Aragonês (25%), Alicante Bouschet (20%), Touriga Nacional (20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Syrah (15%) and Trincadeira (5%), from vines with an average age of 23 years. Each variety is harvested and fermented separately, in concrete vats, marble lagares and stainless steel; the wine ages for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, half and half, and a further six months in bottle.
