Fanta Laranja
by Fanta · Soft drink · Germany
Orange soft drink from The Coca-Cola Company. The Fanta brand appeared in Germany in 1940, created by Max Keith, head of a Coca-Cola bottler, when the war cut off access to the concentrate; the name comes from the German "Fantasie". The orange version was developed in Italy in 1955 and arrived in Brazil in 1964.
According to Coca-Cola Brasil, the recipe contains carbonated water, sugar, concentrated orange juice (4.2%) and apple juice (1%), the acidity regulators citric acid and trisodium citrate, flavoring, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate as preservatives and sunset yellow FCF coloring. Some packs at retail carry a formula with vitamin C and the sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium.
