Fords Gin

by Fords Gin · Gin · London, United Kingdom

Fords Gin is a London Dry gin distilled at Thames Distillers in London. It was created by bartender Simon Ford with Charles Maxwell, an 11th-generation master distiller, and its bottle was designed as a bar tool, with measuring marks on the side. The brand now belongs to Brown-Forman.

It uses nine botanicals: juniper, coriander, lemon, orange and grapefruit peels, jasmine, angelica, orris root and cassia. They steep for 15 hours before five hours of distillation in copper stills; the spirit then goes to Newbridge, Scotland, where it is cut with spring water and bottled at 45% alcohol. The house recommends it for cocktails such as the Negroni, Martini and Bee's Knees.
