Four Roses Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Four Roses, a distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, owned by Japan's Kirin. The brand was registered in 1888 by Paul Jones Jr., the year that appears on the label, and the distillery building, from 1910, in Spanish Mission style, is on the US National Register of Historic Places.
The house combines two mash bills (60% or 75% corn, with rye and barley) and five proprietary yeasts, forming ten bourbon recipes; Small Batch blends four of them: OBSK, OBSO, OESK and OESO. It matures for 6 to 7 years in new charred American oak barrels, in single-storey warehouses, and is bottled at 45%.
