Gentleman Jack is a Tennessee whiskey from Jack Daniel's, a distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, owned by Brown-Forman. The house says it was inspired by the founder, Jasper Newton Daniel. It reached the United States in 1988 in a 12-sided bottle, replaced in 2006–2007 by the current rectangular bottle.
Like Old No. 7, the spirit drips through about 3 meters of maple charcoal and ages in new American white oak barrels; it then receives a second charcoal filtration, hence the Double Mellowed on the label. It is 40% alcohol, and the brand publishes recipes such as the Gentleman Jack & Ginger and the Gentleman Jack Sour.
