Germana Tradicional is the straw-wrapped bottle cachaça from Germana, made since 1912 at Fazenda Vista Alegre, in Nova União, Minas Gerais. According to the brand, founder Sérgio Caetano wrapped the bottles in banana straw so they would not break on the backs of mules, and the straw became the label's identity. Germana is sold throughout the country and has been exported since 1990.

It is produced in copper alembic stills and aged for two years in oak barrels, according to the official website; Cachaçaria Nacional specifies one year in French oak and another in bálsamo vats. It comes in at 40%, in the straw-wrapped 1-liter bottle (there is also a 700 ml one), and the blend is overseen by master blender Walter Caetano.
