Glenfiddich 12 Anos is a single malt Scotch from the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, in the Speyside region. William Grant built the distillery in 1886, and the first spirit ran from the stills on Christmas Day 1887. William Grant & Sons remains in the hands of the founder's descendants and began selling the single malt in international markets in 1963.
It is made from malted barley and water from the Robbie Dhu springs, next to the distillery. The whisky matures for 12 years in American oak casks that held bourbon and European oak casks that held Oloroso sherry; afterwards, the batches rest together in large oak vats (marrying tuns). The brand suggests drinking it neat, on the rocks, with a little water or in a highball.
