Glenfiddich 15 Anos

Glenfiddich 15 Anos, called Solera Fifteen by the brand, is a single malt Scotch from the Glenfiddich distillery, in Dufftown, Speyside, made by the William Grant family. The distillery has used the same Highland spring since 1887, and the solera vat that defines this whisky is never emptied: it has stood half full, with whisky, since 1998.

The whisky matures for 15 years in bourbon, new oak and sherry casks; the batches then come together in the solera vat, where the older whisky that remains influences the new. Finally, the whole rests in oak vats under the supervision of malt master Brian Kinsman, who is responsible for the technique.
