Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge is the orange and cognac liqueur from the house of Marnier Lapostolle, founded in 1827 in France. It was created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle, who combined French cognac with a distilled orange liqueur and a little sugar. According to Difford's Guide, it was served at receptions of Edward VII before reaching the Russian court; today the brand belongs to the Campari Group.

The bitter oranges are picked while still green, and the peels are sun-dried and spend up to eight days in neutral alcohol before a slow distillation at the Château de Bourg-Charente. According to Difford's, cognac makes up 51% of the blend, with an average age of three years, and the liqueur rests for six months in oak vats. The house recommends it for the Grand Margarita.
