Grey Goose Vodka
by Grey Goose · Vodka · Cognac, France
Grey Goose is a French vodka created in 1997 by American businessman Sidney Frank, who developed the recipe with François Thibault, a cellar master (maître de chai) with experience in cognac. In 2004 Frank sold the brand to Bacardi, its owner ever since.
It has only two ingredients: soft winter wheat from Picardy, in northern France, sown in October and harvested in August, and spring water from the Cognac region, naturally filtered through limestone and drawn from its own well in Gensac. According to the producer, the wheat is distilled only once, to preserve the characteristics of the raw material. The brand recommends it for cocktails such as the Martini, Moscow Mule and Bloody Mary.
