It is part of the Caskmates series, alongside the Stout Edition, and was created, according to the house, for craft beer lovers; the IPA in the name is read as Irish Pale Ale.
It is a combination of aged, triple-distilled grain and pot still whiskeys that finishes its maturation in casks that previously held craft beer, as the label states. Since 1976 Jameson has been produced at the Midleton distillery, near Cork. It is bottled at 40%, and the brand suggests serving it with tonic water or in the IPA Shandy drink.
