Jameson Irish Whiskey is a blended Irish whiskey with no age statement, produced at the Midleton distillery in County Cork, Ireland. The brand comes from the distillery that Scotsman John Jameson established in 1780 on Bow Street in Dublin. In 1966 the company joined other distilleries to form Irish Distillers, which moved production to Midleton in the 1970s and has belonged to Pernod Ricard since 1988.
The blend combines grain whiskey with pot still whiskey made from malted and unmalted Irish barley, and the spirits are triple distilled. The malt is dried in closed kilns, without peat. According to Pernod Ricard, the whiskey ages for at least three years, and the ingredient list gives caramel as a coloring.
