Johnnie Walker Black Label is a 12-year-old blended Scotch whisky from Johnnie Walker, a Diageo brand. The story begins in 1820, when John Walker opened a grocery store in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

His son Alexander adopted the square bottle and the slanted label, and the blend previously sold as Extra Special Old Highland Whisky took the name Black Label when the brand began identifying its whiskies by label color. The Striding Man figure was commissioned in 1908.

According to the brand, it is made only with single malt and grain whiskies from various regions of Scotland, all matured for at least 12 years. Johnnie Walker suggests drinking it neat, on the rocks or in highballs and cocktails such as the Go Go Highball.
