Marqués de Cáceres is the bodega that Enrique Forner founded in 1970 in Cenicero, in Rioja Alta. The owner of two châteaux in Bordeaux, he brought to Rioja the techniques of the Bordeaux oenologist Émile Peynaud, and the first wines released, in 1975, were a 1970 Crianza and a 1968 Reserva. Today the house is run by his daughter, Cristina Forner.

The Crianza uses Tempranillo and other varieties from small plots of old vines in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, hand-harvested. It ferments in stainless steel with up to 20 days of maceration and spends 12 months in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels, followed by at least a year in bottle before release. The house recommends serving it at 16 °C.
