Mateus Rosé is the rosé from Sogrape, Portugal's largest wine producer, created in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, one of the company's founders. The flattened bottle was inspired by the canteens of First World War soldiers, and the label shows the Mateus Palace, in Vila Real. In the late 1970s the brand accounted for almost 40% of Portugal's table wine exports.

It is a blend of Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca vinified as a white: the must ferments slowly, without the skins, in stainless steel at 16 °C, and then undergoes fining, cold stabilization and filtration. It has 11% alcohol, 15 g/L of sugar and a slight prickle of carbon dioxide. Sogrape recommends serving it between 6 °C and 8 °C, in a flute or tulip glass.
