Melitta Tradicional is the standard roast and ground coffee from Melitta, a company born in Dresden, Germany, from the paper coffee filter patented by Melitta Bentz in 1908. The brand arrived in Brazil in 1968, initially with paper filters, and today roasts coffee in the country, with plants in Avaré (SP) and Bom Jesus (RS).
It is made with a blend of beans selected by Melitta, at a medium roast and medium grind, and sold in 250 g and 500 g vacuum packs and in a 500 g pouch. For coffee brewed in a paper filter or an electric coffee maker, the brand recommends about 80 g of ground coffee (5 to 6 tablespoons) per liter of filtered water heated to boiling point.
