Michelob Ultra is the low-carb beer in the Michelob line from Anheuser-Busch. The Michelob brand was created in 1896 by Adolphus Busch, and the name comes from Měcholupy, a brewing town in what is now the Czech Republic.
The Ultra version arrived in 2002, advertised for its low carbohydrate content, and in 2025 became the best-selling beer in the United States. In Brazil, it is part of Ambev's portfolio.
It is an American light lager made with water, malt, rice and hops. According to Ambev, it has 80% fewer carbohydrates than regular beers, 26 kcal per 100 ml and contains no gluten. It is sold in 350 ml sleek cans and 330 ml glass bottles.
