Miolo Lote 43
by Miolo · Wine · Vale dos Vinhedos, Brazil
Miolo Lote 43 is a red from Vinícola Miolo launched in 1999 and made only in vintages the house considers exceptional. The name honors the plot of land (lote) bought by Giuseppe Miolo when he arrived in Brazil, in 1897, in what is now the Vale dos Vinhedos, the region that obtained the country's first Denomination of Origin for wines.
It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Vale dos Vinhedos, with Denomination of Origin, whose final blend is chosen by winemaker Adriano Miolo. The wine ages for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Miolo indicates an aging potential of more than 15 years and serving between 16 °C and 18 °C, with red meats, lamb, game and aged cheeses.
