Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut
by Mionetto · Sparkling wine · Prosecco DOC Treviso, Italy
Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut is the brut prosecco from the Prestige Collection line of Mionetto, a house founded in 1887 by producer Francesco Mionetto in Valdobbiadene, in the Veneto (Italy). The company has belonged since 2008 to the German group Henkell, and in Brazil the orange-band bottle is sold by Henkell Freixenet Brasil under the name Orange Label.
It is made only with Glera grapes from the Prosecco DOC Treviso zone. The grapes are gently pressed, the must ferments off the skins and the second fermentation takes place in an autoclave (Charmat method), a technique Mionetto adopted in 1982. Sugar is between 9 and 12 g/L and total acidity between 5.5 and 6.5 g/L; the house recommends serving it between 6 °C and 8 °C, in a flute, and drinking it within a year of bottling.
