Orfeu Bourbon Amarelo
by Orfeu · Coffee · Sul de Minas and Mogiana, Brazil
Orfeu Bourbon Amarelo is a 100% arabica specialty coffee in the Varietais range from Orfeu, a brand that entered the specialty coffee market in 2005 and is produced by Café Fazenda Sertãozinho, in Botelhos, in the south of Minas Gerais. The range brings together single-variety coffees, and this one uses only Bourbon Amarelo (Yellow Bourbon).
The beans come from the Sul de Minas and Mogiana regions, at 1,100 to 1,400 meters above sea level, and are roasted on the farm itself to a medium-light roast, with an intensity of 5 out of 10 on the brand's scale. The 250 g ground version has a fine grind, and Orfeu recommends 10 to 12 g of coffee for every 100 ml of water. It is also sold as whole beans and in Nespresso-compatible capsules.
