Red Bull Energy Drink is the original energy drink from Red Bull GmbH, a company headquartered in Fuschl am See, Austria. The drink was adapted from the Thai Krating Daeng, created by Chaleo Yoovidhya in 1976: the Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz founded the company with Chaleo in 1984, and Red Bull reached shops in Austria on 1 April 1987.
The formula contains water, sugars of plant origin, caffeine, taurine and B-group vitamins (B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12); according to the brand, the taurine, caffeine and vitamins are produced synthetically. In Brazil, the 250 ml can has 80 mg of caffeine and 27 g of sugars, and the drink is also sold in 355 ml and 473 ml cans.
