Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Blended Grain is a blended grain Scotch whisky from Royal Salute, a brand Chivas Brothers launched on 2 June 1953, the day of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. The name comes from the 21-gun salute fired at the Tower of London on royal occasions, which is why all the house's whiskies are at least 21 years old. Chivas Brothers belongs to the Pernod Ricard group.
The blend brings together only grain whiskies, each at least 21 years old, matured exclusively in American oak casks. It was the first Royal Salute bottled in a clear glass flagon, which shows off the amber color. It comes in at 40%, in a 700 ml flagon, and the house recommends it to accompany meals.
