Salinas Umburana is one of the cachaças from Cachaça Salinas, the Medrado family brand born in Salinas, in the north of Minas Gerais, a town with an INPI Geographical Indication since 2012. The brand grew out of Heleno Medrado's emporium in Belo Horizonte, which sold products from his home region; the label bears the date 1986, and the family is in its third generation.

It is part of the house's Linha Séries. The cane is harvested between May and November, ferments with natural yeasts and is distilled in a copper alembic still, using only the heart.

The cachaça then spends two years in umburana vats, the wood that gives the label its name. It comes in at 40%, in 600 ml, 700 ml and 1-liter bottles, and the house suggests serving it with fish, poultry, meat, roasts and feijoada.
