Salton Brut Rosé
by Salton · Sparkling wine · Serra Gaúcha, Brazil
Salton Brut Rosé is the standard brut rosé sparkling wine from Vinícola Salton, in Bento Gonçalves (RS). The house was formally established in 1910 by the sons of the Venetian immigrant Antonio Domenico Salton and has made sparkling wines since 1933; today the rosé shares the catalog with Ouro and 116 Anos versions of the same style.
It is a blend of Pinot Noir and Trebbiano from the Serra Gaúcha. The base wines go through pneumatic pressing, fermentation and blending; the second fermentation takes place in pressurized tanks (Charmat method), and the expedition liqueur leaves 14 g/L of sugar. Salton recommends serving it at 6 °C to 8 °C, alongside canapés, risottos and fish.
