Salton Séries Brut
by Salton · Sparkling wine · Serra Gaúcha, Brazil
Salton Séries Brut is the brut sparkling wine in the Séries range from Vinícola Salton, in Bento Gonçalves (RS). The company was formally established in 1910 by the sons of the Venetian immigrant Antonio Domenico Salton and has made sparkling wines since 1933; the seal on the Séries label recalls that the house declares itself the leader in sparkling wines on the Brazilian market.
It is a blend of Trebbiano and Moscato from the Serra Gaúcha. The base wine goes through destemming, pneumatic pressing, clarification and fermentation; the bubbles form in a second fermentation in pressurized tanks (Charmat method), followed by stabilization, expedition liqueur and filtration.
It has 11.5% alcohol and 14 g/L of sugar. Salton recommends serving it at 6 °C to 8 °C, with appetisers, fish, seafood and white meat.
