Smirnoff No. 21
by Smirnoff · Vodka · Russia
Smirnoff No. 21 is the classic vodka from Smirnoff, a Diageo brand since 1997.
Its origin lies in the distillery Piotr Smirnov opened in Moscow in 1864. After the 1917 Revolution, his son Vladimir left Russia, adopted the spelling Smirnoff and, in 1933, sold the North American rights to Rudolph Kunett.
According to Diageo, the vodka is made from grain spirit, distilled three times and filtered ten times. In Brazil it is produced locally; Diageo's plant in Fortaleza (CE) began making it in December 2018. The company recommends it for drinks such as the Moscow Mule, caipiroska and vodka tonic.
