Orange soft drink created in Bahia by Fratelli Vita, a company founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Giuseppe Vita; the name joins the word "suco" (juice) to the family surname. In 1972 Brahma partnered with Fratelli Vita and, in 1976, the two relaunched Sukita nationwide, in returnable glass bottles. Today the brand belongs to Ambev and is part of the Antarctica soft drink line.
The drink is sweetened with sugar and the sweeteners acesulfame potassium and sucralose, and made with orange juice; the brand's product sheet lists citric acid as acidulant and sodium benzoate as preservative. Besides the orange version, Ambev sells Sukita in grape, lemon, guaraná, tubaína and tutti frutti flavors.
