Tanqueray London Dry

by Tanqueray · Gin · United Kingdom

Tanqueray London Dry is a gin created in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray, who distilled in the Bloomsbury district of London. The brand now belongs to Diageo, and production was moved to the Cameron Bridge distillery in Scotland, where the old still known as Old Tom was also taken.

The recipe uses only four botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and liquorice, placed directly in the base spirit. The gin is distilled four times, and every batch passes through Old Tom at some stage. The version sold in Brazil is the 47.3% one, and Diageo suggests serving it with ice, tonic water and a slice of lime.
