Tanqueray No. Ten
by Tanqueray · Gin · United Kingdom
Tanqueray No. Ten is a gin from Tanqueray, a brand Charles Tanqueray began distilling in London in 1830 and which now belongs to Diageo. Launched in 2000, it is named after the distillery's still number 10, a small 500-liter copper still nicknamed Tiny Ten; the house presents it as the first gin distilled with whole citrus fruit.
First, fresh oranges, limes and grapefruits are distilled in Tiny Ten with neutral wheat spirit, forming what is called the citrus heart. In the second distillation, this heart joins juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice, chamomile flowers and fresh limes.
It is bottled at 47.3%. Among the house's recipes are the Ten Martini and the Gin Rickey.
