Trapiche Vineyards Malbec
by Trapiche · Wine · Mendoza, Argentina
Trapiche Vineyards Malbec is an Argentine red wine from the Vineyards line of Bodega Trapiche, in Mendoza. Founded in 1883, the winery says it was a pioneer in Argentina in introducing French vines and in using French oak barrels. In 2019, Wine Enthusiast magazine named Trapiche New World Winery of the Year.
It is a varietal Malbec made with grapes from selected vineyards in the eastern zone and the upper zone of the Mendoza River, in the province of Mendoza. Trapiche does not detail the winemaking for this label on its website, but recommends serving it between 16 °C and 18 °C and suggests pairing it with roast meats, pasta, seasoned dishes and semi-hard cheeses such as gouda, gruyère and edam.
